PastorNelson
We had a great day last Sunday, Easter.

In the Morning Service, the children of our Sunday School presented a program about the Empty Tomb.  They did a great job in making the Resurrection of Christ a reality for us.  What a blessing it is to meditate on the truth of Christ’s Resurrection.  What does His resurrection guarantee us?

1.  That He is the Son of God.
Romans 1:4    Vs. 3 speaks of  God’s Son, “Jesus Christ our Lord.”  Then vs. 4 states that He is “declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:”

2.  That He justifies sinners who believe in Christ.
Romans 4:25   “Who was   delivered for our offences (that was the result of the crucifixion), and was raised again for our justification.”   The note on this verse in the Scofield Bible reads:   “…That He was raised and exalted to God’s right hand, ‘now to appear in the presence of God for us’ (Hebrews 9:24), is the token that our sins are gone, that His work for us has the Divine approbation and that we, for whom He suffered, are completely justified.”

3.  That there will be a judgment day.
Acts 17:31  “Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man Whom He hath ordained;  whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hat raised Him from the dead.”

Last Sunday morning I preached on John 11:25-26 where we read that Christ said:  “I am the resurrection and the life…”  I really did not get very far in teaching those verses.  So I have decided to spend more time preaching on John 11.  Next Sunday I will again be in the same chapter going into more depth in John 11.  What a great chapter of the Bible is John 11! !

Last Sunday night Pastor Josh preached a great message from Ephesians 1.  The last verse of Ephesians 1 states that the Church is “His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all  in all.”  What a privilege it is to be part of a local Church living for the Lord and thus serving Him.

Let me encourage you to be back with us again next Sunday for a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Also let me request that you pray for the Dan Brock family who live in Littleton.  Dan has been the Administrator of Silver State Christian School  They are right now undergoing a severe trial.  We must pray that God will bless and that His will will be done.  Pray also for Jan Waters n our church tat God will perform His will in her body as she deals with cancer.  We are going to miss Dave and Shirley Ater who have gone back eat to help their family there.

Dear Church Family,

What a beautiful to sight to look out at the landscape transformed by the white snow. As I look out the window preparing for tomorrow I can’t stop thinking about the sacrifice that Jesus made for me to make my sin as white as snow. I pray that you will begin thinking these thoughts today and prepare your heart for tomorrow’s service. We have a very special service planned tomorrow. Our singing will be focused on the sacrifice that Christ made for us on the cross. Maria Barta, one of our newest members, will be singing one of my favorite songs tomorrow, The Look (the lyrics for this song can be found at the bottom of this post). We will conclude the service with our Sacrifice Sunday Offering. In this offering you will be asked to place your financial, as well as time, sacrifice to Christ. It will be a wonderful time of focus on the work of our precious Savior.

I understand that the snow has made it difficult for many to get out; however, I believe that tomorrow’s service is extremely important for our church. We have a quick fellowship after the service tomorrow followed by a presentation of the plans for our new auditorium. If our church is going to move forward on this building project I believe it is vital for us all to be on the same page. We are planing the future of our church tomorrow. We spent the entire month of January building up to this service. I believe this is a critical time for our church body. We have the opportunity to gather together and focus on the sacrifice that Christ made for us on the cross. I pray that you will be here tomorrow to worship together with the body of Christ.

In Christ,

Pastor Josh

The Look

I saw one hanging on a tree in agony and blood

Who fixed His loving eyes on me as near His cross I stood

And never till my dying breath will I forget that look

It seemed to charge me with His death though not a word He spoke

My conscience felt and owned the guilt and plunged me in despair

I saw my sins His blood had spilt and helped to nail Him there

But with a second look He said “I freely all forgive

this blood is for your ransom paid; I died that you might live”

Thus while His death my sin displays for all the world to view

Such is the mystery of grace; it seals my pardon too

With pleasing grief and mournful joy my spirit now is filled

That I should such a life destroy yet live by Him I killed

CHORUS

Forever etched upon my mind is the look of Him who died

The Lamb I crucified and now my life will sing the praise

Of pure atoning grace that looked on me and gladly

took my place
